I thought what shall i write or put as my 500th post?
The 1st one wrote on August 13th 2006 is pinned 4th on my Blog... "Life"
I never imagined that after that 1st one i would still be here writing poems & songs or sometimes just rubbish!
In 2 yrs of being a member on this site i have met some wonderful people & believe i have some very good friends around the world for which i am truly grateful.
Without you my friends i would not write the things i do, you all in turn inspire me so a BIG THANK YOU to you all.
Had i not been on this site i would most likely never have visited The Philippines from which i have just recently returned having had the best 10 - 12 days of my life. Events of which i am still writing about!! with 3 albums containing in all 47 photo's for you my friends to view.
It was a shame i never got to met the delightful Gigi but at least we talked via mobile phone a couple of times, i do hope next year i will return!! So lock up your daughters if i do!!
I did get to meet my best friend & her wonderful family on more than one occasion, and still can't believe how beautiful she really is, not just in looks but her overall personality. As you know my dearest I'll LOVE YOU forever if only as a friend, you truly are a special person for which i am grateful to have known. (even if you do turn up hours late)
So to all of you i thank again, for your visits to my Blog and your comments are always welcomed & hope i'm still here after another 500 post's!

Holiday in the Philippines Part 2

So here I am, day three it’s Wednesday July 09th 2008 still finding it hard to believe I am here and even harder to believe I have met the best friend anyone could ever imagine to have.
Oh I forgot to mention that late on Tuesday afternoon the airport delivered my suitcase, which was a relief as I had some gifts for Jenh in there and was able to give them to her just before she left.
Ah a text message from Bobby saying “Morning Sir, I am in the lobby, what is your schedule for today”
Nothing planned for today as tomorrow Thursday have invited Jenh to the hotel and I’m cooking one of my favourite English dishes, well I expect I will turn it into a 3 coarse meal, and get Bobby to have a word with the staff to see if I can lay-up the table in style!
So after a breakfast at the restaurant on the 12th floor it’s off to the Mall with Bobby & Larry to do some serious food shopping. I’m wondering if I can get everything I need?
I feel like a Celebrity Chef, walking round pointing at this & picking up that while Larry is pushing the shopping trolley and Bobby is negotiating or bartering deals for me, as the locals are looking with wonderment on there faces as to who I am?
Think I better get a case of beer for these two hard working friends of mine and with all this hard work shopping… well I had a lot to think about! Has made me hungry.
So stop off at The Aristocrat Restaurant my favourite place to eat, but so expensive! It cost me all of £9 - £10 for the three of us!!
I can’t think of many better ways to spend an afternoon sat outside a restaurant in the warm eating exotic food and a cold beer watching all the beautiful women pass by! Marvellous.
So back to the hotel a few beers with now my adopted brothers Bobby, Larry & joined by Lino & then an early night as I have an important day tomorrow.
Thursday and it seems that all the hotel staff have got knowledge that I am cooking a meal for Miss Jenny as they now call her, wanting to know what the menu is?
Well I have plenty of help, Bobby is busy ordering all the necessary table wear from the room boy and unbeknown to me until now Larry used to be a top Chef, so is busy peeling this and opening that intrigued at what I am cooking.
Better ring Jenh find out if she’ll be on time? 6pm. OK that’s fine, plenty of time as I have prepared the starter of melon balls, strawberries, kiwi fruit & banana slices which I’ll do later as they go brown otherwise, and drizzled over this is 2 - 3 tablespoons of fine Port! Hmmm. Better have a glass to see if it’s OK! Any excuse I know.
So for the main coarse, boiled potatoes & mixed vegetables with, 1st fry a finely chopped onion, about 3 or 4 finely chopped tomatoes & finely chopped mushrooms in some olive oil for about 10 -15 minutes
Add a chicken stock cube salt & pepper, mixed herbs & some Worchester sauce & lemon juice with a glass of wine, then add the chopped up bite size chicken breast, cover, turn heat down low & slowly steam pan fry for half an hour.
For dessert strawberry ice cream, a bottle of white wine chilling in the fridge and a box of Ferrero Rosso chocolates for after… job done!
With over an hour to spare before I need to start cooking as I have already fried off the onion tomato & mushroom so just about 20 - 30 minutes everything will be ready.
Time for a couple of well earned beers and a chat with my newly found brothers.
Five thirty better start cooking, every things in place, even the waiter came down from the restaurant to make sure we had everything and it was all in the right place!
Five minutes to go… phone rings, Jenh is running late! Will now not arrive until 6 - 6.30... shit! Quick turn off that cooker. One good thing this dish will be OK as I have an electric cooker & the rings take ages to cool down. Well more beer then lads!
Now I have mentioned in part one of this epilogue that Jenh is a late comer! So here I am now with outside the hotel with an audience of hotel staff wondering where she is? As it is now almost 7pm.
Eventually we have phone contact & it seems that the taxi driver forgot to fuel his car & is now driving slower than a snail! Estimated time of arrival now is 9 - 9.30pm.
Finally about 9.45 & Jenh arrives with youngest R. a ten year old with the most gorgeous cheeky smile I’ve ever seen!
No need for a sorry or an excuse just get your asses up stairs and lets eat!
Maybe it was a little over cooked after over a 4 hr delay but hey! Us men are used to waiting for you women, and to have such a gorgeous mother & come for dinner, what’s a few hours wait among friends!

Holiday in the Philippines Pt.1

So I was up at 4 am Sunday morning 6th July all excited as the day has arrived to fly off into the Sun.
My friend Phil is picking me up at 6am to drive me to Bristol Airport as I need to be there by 7.15am 3 hours before my flight at 10.15am. I’m sure time flies quicker than a plane! & it’s not long before we are on are way, at least this early in the morning the roads are empty & the numb nuts are still in bed!
So at the airport time for a beer, seems like a good way to start the 1st day of your holiday.
After checking in & sending suitcase is on it’s merry way on a conveyor belt to who knows where? (more on this later) I can enjoy another pint with my mate Phil. After saying fond farewell & Phil telling me I’m a lucky so & so wishing he was coming too, I’m off to departure lounge & not long to go before we take off for the Philippines via Amsterdam. After a short hour’s flight to Amsterdam & a 2 hour wait to transfer to a Jumbo I’m soon settled in my seat for a long 12 hour journey with NO SMOKING OMG! Well at least I have my mp3 player.
It’s 9am Monday morning local time & I have landed in a country that last year only dreamt about! I can’t believe I am actually here! I’m being collected at Manila airport by the hotel driver so it’s off to get my suitcase. After an hour me & about 20 others are still here at this bloody carousel going round & round, I think I’m dizzy by now & where the fuck is my suitcase? My first trip abroad since 1985 & they have lost my fucking suitcase!! After filling out a book of forms & getting more than agitated I’m off to find my driver, wondering if he is still here? It’s a good job I had phoned my bank & arranged to use my debit card for the period I am away as all my clothes money & toilet things are who the fuck knows where? By now it’s 11am I’m tired hungry hot & agitated without my belongings & have no idea where to find my driver? Well at least the airport police are helpful here & soon find my driver Bobby & everyone is calling me Sir. & opening doors for ME! About half an drive & I am in Cubao Quezon City check in to my hotel & meet the delightful Mardy who is on-line booking manager.
Now Bobby my driver has agreed to look after me for my stay here, so I employ him as bodyguard, chauffeur, personnel & financial advisor, camera man, photographer you name it Sir Bob is it.
He is the man of the street & everywhere we go everyone seems to know him & along with two other drivers Larry & Lino over the next 12 days we become like brothers, I really will miss these guys we had so much fun & laughter.
So I need a mobile phone so I can contact Jenh as mine doesn’t work here, & toothbrush & razor as mine is in my suitcase god only knows where? so Bobby & I go off to the Ali Mall to purchase a cheap one, he knows where to go & what to get & is good at bartering!
And with Bobby’s influence I am now meeting Jenh at my hotel tomorrow Tuesday after she finishes work. I’m so excited I can’t sleep! So I write songs & poems until 4.30 am!
Eventually I succumb & fall asleep for a couple hours, so after I’m showered & fed it’s off to reception for the arrival of Jenh, 11 am she says. All the hotel staff by now have learned about her arrival & are eagerly awaiting to get a glimpse of this beautiful woman. But like most women (I should know this by now) Jenh is a late comer! I have often wondered how much time us men spend waiting around for women?? Eventually Jenh arrives, it’s 1pm so only 2 hours late!! But worth every single second waiting for! What’s more she is even more beautiful than I ever could have imagined. A petite young woman with an effervescent glow of magnetism and a smile to match. I could here the staff saying WOW!
Now Bob, Larry & Lino had been teaching me tagalog so I greeted Jenh with ma saya ako na nakita kita & ikaw ang pinakamaganda para sa akin which translated means your most beautiful for me & your most beautiful, I expect I will be corrected if this is wrong!!
So off to my room present Jenh with flowers & present & order a meal from the restaurant!
I am just the happiest man living on the planet right now!!
To realize a dream to visit a country I never thought possible & to meet the most beautiful woman I have ever set eyes on, I had to pinch myself later to see if I was still alive!!

Well after a 12hr flight from Manila - Amsterdam a 3hr wait for transfer for my flight to Bristol then an hours drive by my friend who met me at the airport finally arrived home at 2am UK time.
had a few hours sleep & been unpacking washing etc. & anyone who's been away for nearly 2weeks will know what i mean!
I've had a chance to catch up with my responses & visited a few of your blogs, but for now forgive me if i haven't yet visited yours.
Much to do & will be posting stories of my stay in Quezon City Manila & compiling Albums of photo's of people i met who became my good friends & places i visited (not that many as time just evaporated) for my friends to view, over the next few days.
thanks to all of you who sent me good wishes, & as you know i did manage to get on line for short periods whilst away.. Internet connection was not good & i kept getting booted off!! Hooray for my AOL broadband!!
So for now i have to do shopping & chores & then start to recall memories of the best ever 10 - 12 days of my 56yrs.
Although i feel sad & lonely at leaving my new found friends behind i am also feeling like the happiest person on the planet having met so many wonderful people! & knowing I'm not alone with you my watchers & regular visitors to my blog for which i thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
