I grew up in a country where it's expected that women do sugaring on most of their body hair. However I've never tried it on myself but have experience assisting others. In college my roommate thought it natural I would be happy to help her with the procedure, and before I knew it there I was I was peeling the cooled sugar strips off the back of her thighs, arms and armpits once a month. I suggest practice with patience and/or get someone to show you how to begin. There are YouTube videos showing how it's done (on males) so maybe search for those. Tip: If you mess up or get stuck and need to abort, removing the wax is easier than removing the sugar. So start with wax, learn the technique, then move on to sugar. I have skin allergy issues so I can't do it with either wax or sugar. I use an epilator device where the hair is plucked gradually rather than being ripped off in one go. Some find that more painful, terribly slow or bothersome. After 4-5 times it became very easy to deal with the pain response and over time it's something that does not feel painful if I can control the speed and angle of the epilator as it passes over the areas of interest. I avoid epilating immediately before or after a shower, to prevent skin irritation from the soaps/lotions. For sensitive areas (pubic region, armpits) I suggest hair removal late at night. The skin neurons are less receptive. Maybe the nervous system is "sleepy"/"tired" and so the pain sensations are diminished - or at least that's how it feels to me.
