Just stop already. Over the last few days, it seems like everyday there's a new "I'm offended" article being written about Christmas stuff. I know we're living in a I'm offended because the wind is blowing in from the north today society. But come on...really? Some examples. Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. I really thought this one was gonna be about the color of his nose. But nope..it's cause his dad was too hard on him, and tried to make him hide is nose. He should be proud of his red nose. And after poor Rudolph runs away, his mom wants to help go look for him. Donner tells her, no, this is mans work. So of course that's sexist. It's a cartoon with talking Reindeer!! Does anyone really take life lessons from a Christmas cartoon movie? Today I read a article where a radio station stopped playing a song...Baby it's cold outside, because it's offended some listeners. Some of the lyrics that offended I really can't stay (But baby it's cold outside).......cause this insinuates he's trying to force her to stay. Say what's in this drink (No cabs to be had out there)...cause this sounds like he's drugging her drink. But here's the part that gets me..The station polled it's "listeners" asking whether they thought the song should be played. 92 percent out of more than 600 voters were in favor of playing the song while 8 percent thought it was inappropriate. So they pulled it. LOL, how does that make any sense. You pull a song written in the 40s, because it sends the wrong message. Yet, stations continue to play music that totally demeans women. (I know , I know, not all music) We're living in one crazy society, and seem to be letting the small minority make decisions on what should offend us. Personally I think I can make up my own mind if Rudolph offends me with that damn red nose of his. And if it does, I can just not watch it. It's not just you. I think a lot of society has gone way overboard with the "I'm offended" crap. There's always ALWAYS going to be someone that's offended by SOMETHING, no matter how trivial or innocuous it is. That's just human nature. Way too many delicate snowflakes out there. Life's tough. Buy some Kevlar and get the hell over it. Hey, the view from way up here on my soapbox is great!  Pagan  Hmmmm....I know I left that wand around here somewhere!

So "Baby, it's cold outside" is inappropriate but "Santa Baby" which "promotes" the idea that women are nothing but gold-diggers is ok? Let's just get rid of anything made in those sexist years ..... that would eliminate history totally and would save on the cost of education. btw - Baby, it's Cold Outside lyrics .... ALL the lyrics - are more about the gal trying to talk herself into leaving when she really wants to stay. Opportunity may knock only once, but temptation bangs on the door forever!

I'm with you my friend, this PC bull is just that. Period! Some our hedging their remarks I see, so secretly disagree with you. There no need to be mean but stop taking things so seriously. I'm self deification and sarcastic, I sling it but can take it right back. Go back fifty years and I might agree or disagree more I should say. But the progress we've made since then and now pushing more just softens us in a world that isn't very soft. I happen to be Italian and just this morning they was saying that the Itailan language in America is becoming lost quicker then all others. It's not that there's no Italians here or their numbers are becoming less, just we as a group respect our country not looking to be known as Italian-Americans, just Americans. An intelligent woman here who I disagree with on about every, maybe everything lol. She without being mean poo pooed me for using the word (Colored) which was not meant to be disrespectful on my end. But I don't use X-American for any group. If you're new here from the Moon then fine you're a Moon-America but if you took your first breath here and not just because you mom was visiting then you're American and should be proud of that fact. Yea, maybe I'm old but being old means I've been around the corner and I've seen things. I've always lived with my eyes open, and thought for myself. You'll learn more from someone that has a hard knock life then all the idiots in Hollywood put together.

I am never going into that PC night. I am all for educating folks on what is right and wrong, but dragging Christmas songs in to the land of offensive is beyond everything that's labeled "stupid". In retail I once was told to say "Happy Holiday" so I wouldnt offend any one- THAT did not work. It's Merry Christmas. If someone is offended- go shop somewhere else.
