the darkest night

The moon had been broken into pieces it was scattered in the night sky she saw me staring into the darkness wondering how this could have happened she laid her hand on my shoulder it was long ago in a distant past when people fought each other for silly things like land this thing called money they fought over that which could benefit they kept it to themselves they nearly destroyed the earth

She asked are you alone no I am here with you no I mean do you sleep alone at night I said yes I am alone at night she said no one should be alone at night when the monsters come yes they come here they still exist they shall always exist it is not because of that but because with a touch of a woman one can survive anything even the darkest night the most frightening of monsters
