Happy Mother's Day  House arrest, or not, I had an amazing day. My middle and the Spawn showed up on the doorstep at 1:30 pm with an African Violet, a mini potted rose, and take out Applebee's. "Happy Mother's day mom." "Awww..... You guys are amazing! Is that Applebee's?? And an African Violet?? Look at the tiny rose...." I honestly couldn't have picked better gifts. I had literally just said I wanted an African Violet to a coworker, I wonder if they clued him in. We were setting out the Applebee's on the table and I marveled at how well they picked the menu. I got my favorite, steak and potatoes, the Spawn got her quesidilla, my middle got a burger and fries, and there were boneless wings as an appetizer. "This is amazing guys. Thank you for Applebee's!" "Don't thank us, thank Dad. It's his money." It's good to know the Spawn is still the Spawn. Little stinker.... "Thank you Dad for the Applebee's!" To all you moms out there, in whatever capacity it may be, I hope you all have a fantastic Mother's Day. |

Hi secret_lade thanks for sharing this post yeah, I reached out to all of the moms in my sphere took dinner to my daughter and grandkids here husband is a fireman and had to work today we had so much fun Happy Mother's Day Hmm stay safe Sugarland - "Mother" She'll take you in, feed your friends Her open arms are welcoming She'll rub your back all night when you're crying She'll listen to you tell your story Hold your fear and all your worries Help you find the truth when they're all lying Even when it's hopeless, she keeps trying She's your mother, you love her There won't be another place like her again that you call home She stands here to help you there's nothing she won't do As long as she's alive you're not alone you've got each other That's your mother

That's great! Dinner included! How come Father's Day doesn't get the same traction as Mother's Day? I make sure the kids do special stuff for their dad on Father's Day as well. I'm a picture person, so I always make special picture gifts for him and give the kids money to take him out to eat too.

I did have a wonderful day. It certainly will be nice, though, when we can start getting out there and doing stuff on special days. My kids and I are total road trip people... We usually get in the car and go somewhere.

Happy Mother's Day. We had a visit to the driveway by grandson's and parents to bring the Mrs 2 huge pots with various plants in each one plus a card. Virtual hugs given then the left...it was a surprise visit! They also organized a drive by for my birthday last month.

Sounds like a nice event, my three girls brought me some fine left overs for lunch today. Our Applebee's close up shop about two months ago, I really liked the Bourbon St. Steak, with potatoes and onions, a fine meal...but no more . closest one now about 50 miles into the city.. Have a good day be safe

How is it that dads get stuck financing mothers day when it's supposed to be from the kids to their moms?  Got to put kids to work to support their gift giving.  They need to get good paying jobs too cause daddy needs a big screen TV for fathers day.  Vive La Difference
