Do you miss me honey?
Do you miss my voice?
My laugh that varies
From soft to loud
Depending on my mirth?

Do you miss my thoughts
That were dispersed
In our conversations?
You know those quirky things
That would just come out
Some that I could't help
But blurt?

Do you miss the promise
Of things to come?
Anticipating meeting
How it would begin
With a kiss or a hug
Reaching for my hand
Rubbing it in yours
To make me feel at ease
And welcome?

Can you picture
The butterflies
That would be set free?
Oh Honey!
Where is our beginning?
Is it over before it began?

Oh for goodness sake!
Can you put away
The torches!
I apologized
For my strangeness.
Can you offer forgiveness
Extend an olive branch?
Realize that I want you
In the worst way!
And I might not
Always be sane
With the level of lust
In my veins.
