Glasses. A Poem

To see where
I am coming from
One must wear
Glasses stained
With mud.
A slight exaggeration
But near enough.

I once wore rose colored ones
Ah the sights I saw
But then reality
Was revealed
When they were
Taken off.

Now I have adorned
Glasses once again
That act like safety
Or protection.
The mud that has splattered
Won't get through
To my sensitive eyes.
Thank goodness.

But the view
Is still obstructed
My attitude is
What has changed.
I no longer think
The best
But rather the opposite.

It's not a shattering blow.
I'm not stuck on the shelf.
I can see to come and go.
