 My mother died while I was still at school, so money was a little tight afterwards.
I went from having a meal prepared by my mother, to either having the choice of having the micky taken out of me, by all the rest of the kids, for having a school meal paid by the government, or a meal prepared by myself, each morning, before I went to school!
You may have guessed, which one I went for???
Re-constituted chicken, would have been a luxury!
I had to settle for a flask of tomato soup & some bread, every day.
At least it was one of my 5 a day nutritional intakes.
Life isn't about how many breaths you take, but about the moments that take your breath away!

The actual lunch the child brought to school was a turkey and cheese sandwhich, some potato chips, a banana, and apple juice. She is also supposed to be a pickey eater. The reason the girl was given a school lunch was because her packed lunch was somehow not nutritious enough for federal guidelines. I don't see what's wrong with it.
