 For years, I sang "Jo, Jo" incorrectly. But then, I get the title wrong, it's "Get Back".
And "Cecilia" by Simon and Garfunkel. My favorite mistake was hearing some nice gal sing "Blinded by the Light", as "Wrapped up like a douche, another loner in the night" instead of the actual lyric: "Cut loose like a deuce, another runner in the night"

However, my favorite mondegreen is in the "Pledge of Allegiance"; "for Richard Stands" instead of "for which it stands". Most intolerable for me is I have heard it from adults on public address systems reciting the Pledge to a school full of children. They also crucify the cadence. Write it down, read the punctuation, get it right!

 I don't even try to get the words right anymore, so I just make up my own. I can come up with some funny or pretty strange stuff.

Oh shit! I think I am becoming Weird Al Yankovic.

My daughter gets a kick out of my songs though; it must really fuck with her head when she hears how bad the 'original' artist mess up my songs.
My daughter thinks the words to, The Battle Hymn of the Republic are:

 There are a few songs I like to sing, decades ago. Now, I learn that they have been singing the song wrong. Each to their own.
